New PE2 board sworn into office, reaffirms commitment to energy efficiency
TAGUIG CITY, 29 July 2026 — The 15-member Board of Trustees of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance Inc. (PE2) formally took their oath of office before Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Mario C. Marasigan during Energy Efficiency Day 2026, held on the opening day of the Philippine Conference on Energy Efficiency and Conservation (PCEEC) 2026 in Shangri La The Fort in BGC, Taguig.
The oath-taking marked a significant milestone for PE2 as the organization strengthens its commitment to advancing energy efficiency as a key driver of the Philippine economy and a vital component of the country’s sustainable energy future.
The newly inducted Board brings together leaders and professionals from diverse sectors of the energy efficiency industry, reflecting PE2’s commitment to collaboration and collective action in accelerating the growth of the energy efficiency market. Elected and sworn into a two-year term were the following 15 members of the PE2 Board of Trustees:

- Raymond Marquez – EconoServ Solutions International
- Ma. Miranda Cordova – Edward Marcs Philippines

- Ireen Catane – Schneider Electric Philippines
- William Alcantara – Vega Energy Services
- Jherald N. Casipit – AdventEnergy
- Jose De Jesus – OSP ESCO International

Their diverse expertise spans energy services, engineering, technology, legal services, certification, electrical systems, and other areas essential to the development of the energy efficiency sector.
The oath-taking also underscored the importance of PE2’s role as a collective civil society platform bringing together industry stakeholders, energy professionals, service providers, technology companies, and other partners toward a common goal.
With the theme of energy efficiency as the “first fuel” of the economy, PE2 continues to advocate for greater awareness, investment, innovation, and collaboration in energy efficiency. The organization believes that achieving meaningful transformation requires stakeholders to move beyond individual sectors and work together toward common solutions.
PE2 Board Chair Alexander Ablaza said, “The induction of the Board comes at an important time as the Philippines continues to pursue a more sustainable, secure, and resilient energy future. Through their collective leadership, the new Board is expected to help advance initiatives that promote energy efficiency, strengthen industry collaboration, and support the mainstreaming of energy efficiency across the Philippine economy.”
The occasion served not only as a formal oath-taking ceremony but also as a renewed commitment by PE2 and its Board to emerge from their silos, work across sectors, and transform the energy efficiency market for the benefit of the country.”
“As PE2 moves forward, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to make energy efficiency a fundamental part of the Philippines’ energy and economic development—recognizing that the cleanest, most affordable, and most readily available energy resource is often the energy that does not need to be consumed in the first place,” Ablaza said.
