PE2 mobilizes EE Day committee
MAKATI CITY, 3 February 2021 – The officers of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) met earlier today to plan the calendar FY 2021 activities for proposal to the PE2 Board of Trustees. The management team agreed to stage the first-ever "Energy Efficiency Day" (EE Day) on 12 April 2021, to mark the second anniversary of the enactment of Republic Act No. 11285, otherwise known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act. It also agreed to serve as the ad hoc event steering committee, with vice-president for external affairs Theresa Acedillo-Lapuz, chairing the committee.
The officers collectively believe that the annual celebration of EE Day every April 12th would help raise awareness and compliance with the EE&C Act across all energy end-use sectors in the economy.
The events committee is now preparing an event plan, sponsorship plan, and event budget for presentation to the PE2 board. The committee plans to invite VIP speakers from the Philippine Government, the business sector, international energy bodies, international financial institutions, and corporate sponsors to the day-long conference.
