TAGUIG CITY, 13 February 2020 – Member companies of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) participated in training event held earlier today on life cycle cost analyses for energy efficiency projects. The training event was organized by the EU Access to Sustainable Energy Programme (EU-ASEP) and held at the F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City. Director Patrick T. Aquino of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) of the Department of Energy (DOE) delivered keynote remarks to open the learning event.

Among the PE2 members represented were: Advanced Energy Technologies Renewables Plus, AVGarcia Power Systems, Daikin Philippines, Danfoss, EconoServ Solutions Int'l, Engie Services Phils, Filairco Technical Services (Trane Phils), Hi-Cool Engineering, Geosphere Technologies, Greenbay Solutions, Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Phils, Indra Phils, Meralco Energy (MServ), Mitsubishi Corp, and Signify Phils.

In a letter dated 7 February 2020, EU-ASEP Team Leader Douglas Liner told PE2 president Alexander Ablaza that the new Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) Act enables fiscal incentives for energy efficiency projects, and that EU-ASEP supports the Department of Energy (DOE) in promoting EE&C through the incorporation of life cycle cost analyses in the decision-making of government and other market stakeholders, as they can provide a useful technique for comparing the relative economic benefits of several energy efficiency options.
