PE2 invited to speak in inaugural Austria business event in SEA
SINGAPORE, 12 October 2023 – Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) president and Climargy CEO Alexander Ablaza was invited by the Austrian Embassies in Singapore and Manila to contribute energy efficiency insights to a net zero transition discussion during the first-ever Austria Connect Southeast Asia 2023 which took place today in the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.
During this 3-day conference, high-level participants of the Austrian business community gathered for three days of networking, knowledge exchange and creating new connections between Southeast Asia and Austria. Dr. Harald Mahrer, President Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Dr. Elisabeth Kornfeind, Director General, Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and Ms. Low Yen Ling, Minister of State Singapore, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, opened the event.
Carrying the theme, "Southeast Asia is going green,” the inaugural Austria Connect event in Southeast Asia highlighted key issues around the topic of circular economy and the net zero transition with Austrian trade teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam as lead organizers.
The Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy in Manila organized an afternoon panel discussion entitled, “A move towards net zero – How we can manage the energy transition.” The discussion was moderated by Christina Stieber, Commercial Counsellor, Austrian Embassy in Manila. Joining this panel were Ablaza; Dr. Josef M. Ullmer, Regional Executive Asia & Oceania, PT Andritz Hydro; Agnes Koh, Assistant Director, External Relations, Energy Market Authority Singapore; and, Dr. Henrietta Egerth, Managing Director, Forschungs Förderungs Gesellschaft (FFG).
