PE2 convenes membership, welcomes BOI support to EE
MAKATI CITY, 25 September 2018 – The general membership of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) gathered in the Rockwell Club in Makati earlier today to share updates on the accomplishments and strategic directions of the organization as it continues to push for the swift passage of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) bill and the suitable incentive package that would catalyze third-party capital flows toward energy efficiency projects.
A record 76% of listed regular member companies was represented during PE2’s General Membership Meeting. PE2 president Alexander Ablaza said that the steady improvement in member participation is clearly an indication that the market is unifying toward a common goal to help the economy accelerate the deployment of energy efficiency technology, solutions, services and capital toward all energy end-use sectors.
The PE2 Board of Trustees also held a regular meeting just before the General Membership Meeting to receive management reports on the financial condition, the membership fee collection drive, and a proposal to tap the potential to grow member and stakeholder participation through web-based solutions.
The semi-annual event was capped with networking cocktails, during which the Alliance welcomed Director Nestor P. Arcansalin’s inspirational remarks, citing the Board of Investment’s expanding activities related to the registration of energy efficiency as an economic activity identified in the 2017 Investment Priorities Plan.
Ablaza delivered a brief reply to the BOI guest on behalf of the Alliance, confirming PE2’s role to partner with Government in ensuring that long-term EE&C roadmap targets are met.
