TAGUIG CITY, 20 February 2020 – Member companies of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) took part in a luncheon event held earlier today at the Seda Hotel in Bonifacio Global City to officially launch PhilEnergy 2021 in the Philippines after an initial launch in Jakarta in September 2019.

Building on the success of RE EE Philippines 2019, Informa Markets announced the expanded scope of PhilEnergy 2021, which is now structured to cover the Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE), Electric and Power (E&P), Electric Vehicle (EV) and Energy Storage (ES) industry sectors. The three-day event will be held from 24-26 March 2021 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Leading the official launch activity were Assistant Secretary Robert B. Uy and Director Patrick T. Aquino of the Department of Energy (DOE); Alexander Ablaza, President of PE2; Erel Nerida, President of the Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines (REAP); Eugenio F. Araullo, Vice President-Internal Affairs of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE); Edmund A. Araga, President of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (eVAP); and Dexter Deyto, General Manager of Informa Markets Philippines.

Among the PE2 members represented were: Advanced Energy Technologies Renewables Plus, Daikin Philippines, Danfoss, Engie Services Phils, Hi-Cool Engineering, Indra Phils, Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), Republic Cement, Schneider Electric Phils, Solrev Energy and Villaraza and Angangco Law.

DOE’s Asec. Uy shared updates on policy measures and recently enacted laws that would strengthen the country’s clean energy markets. Dir. Aquino delivered an informative presentation on Republic Act 11285, otherwise known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EE&C) Act.

On behalf of PE2, Ablaza explained how the EE&C Act enables innovative financing options for implementing entities of energy efficiency projects, whether hosted in the public sector or the private sector.

During the PhilEnergy soft-launch in Jakarta on 11 September 2019, PE2 was represented by its Corporate Secretary, Ma. Concepcion P. Simundac.
