SINGAPORE, 21 April 2021 – The Asia-Pacific ESCO Industry Alliance (APEIA) held its 6th APEIA Meeting earlier today and the participating organizations from China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan approved the application of Asosiasi Perusahaan Pendukung Konservasi Energi Indonesia (APKENINDO) as its tenth country ESCO organization member.

During the same meeting, APEIA recognized ZGC Energy & Environment Service Industry Alliance (EESIA) as the official member association to represent the ESCO industry in China.

All participating member organizations expressed continued support for the incorporation of APEIA in Singapore as they pledged commitments to complete the documentary requirements. The participants also actively contributed to the review of the draft constitution, especially on the topics raised by JAESCO of Japan.

The 6th APEIA Meeting was chaired by Alexander Ablaza of PE2. Nine of the 10 country associations attended the meeting. Other PE2 representatives included Ruth Yu-Owen, Theresa Acedillo-Lapuz, Richard Henrick I. Beltran, Luigi Andrei G. Eusebio and Hazel D. Planco.

Ablaza announced APEIA’s active participation in the Global ESCO Network and sought the support of the APEIA member organizations toward the activities of the Global ESCO Network, such as the series of ESCO webinars scheduled through the remainder of 2021.

APEIA was initially convened in June 2018 as a platform for ESCO associations across the Asia-Pacific for sharing knowledge and experience, building capacity and ultimately potentially mobilizing energy efficiency projects and financing across the Asia-Pacific Region.

While it continues to reach out to more ESCO communities in the region, APEIA is currently supported by ten country ESCO associations:

  • Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), India
  • Asosiasi Perusahaan Pendukung Konservasi Energi Indonesia (APKENINDO), Indonesia
  • Japan Association of Energy Service Companies (JAESCO), Japan
  • Korea Association of ESCO (KAESCO), Korea
  • Malaysia Association of Energy Service Companies (MAESCO), Malaysia
  • Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance Inc. (PE2), Philippines
  • Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), Singapore
  • Taiwan Energy Service Association (TESA), Taiwan
  • Thai ESCO Association, Thailand
  • ZGC Energy & Environment Service Industry Alliance (EESIA), China
